Lincoln City Sandcastle Contest at Siletz Bay
Every August, for over 40 years, folks gather in Lincoln City’s Historic Bayfront area to have some good ol’ beach fun at the annual Sandcastle Contest at Siletz Bay.
Our amateur-only sand sculpting extravaganza is timed to be a race against the tide. Everyone has a chance to win and everyone has a great time. It’s a sand-fueled day-long party.
This is your chance to be part of the action in a contest steeped in a mellow beach vibe.
Registration begins at 11 am in the Taft District of Lincoln City off SW 51st Street. Registration is free, but a donation of one non-perishable food item per person is suggested. All donations benefit the Lincoln City Food Pantry.
Judging begins at 4pm. Winners in each category take home a prize!
Sandcastle Building Contest
Only sand, water, shells and other natural beach materials found on the beach that day can be used for construction. Forms can be used in the construction process, but can in no way support the final structure. Hand tools may be used, but use of power tools is not permitted. Our Sandcastle Contest is an amateur competition, so professional sand artists can sit this one out and let the rest of us have all the fun.
